A Muslim immigrant who is running to unseat “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) called the Democratic lawmaker the “No. 1 antisemitic lawmaker in the United States” on Tuesday.

Dalia al Aqidi, a Republican who is running to unseat Omar in 2024, also said that far-left politicians and organizations that support the terrorist organization Hamas, which launched an unprecedented war attack on Israel, do not belong in the United States.

“I’m telling you, Hamas is a terrorist group, and whoever supports these terrorists don’t belong to the United States of America, the land of the free,” al Aqidi told Fox News.”When they call for a free Palestine and call ‘from the river to the sea,’ this is a call for a genocide. Black Lives Matter and all these far-left progressives have no clue what they’re chanting about.”

The Republican congressional hopeful said the people of Minneapolis do not support Hamas and that she traveled to Israel three days ago to show her support and solidarity for the U.S. ally. Al Aqidi is still in Israel.

“We are not like [Omar]. We support the Jewish people, and we are fighting the same fight,” al Aqidi said. “I’ve seen the houses, the burnt houses. You can smell it. It’s a place of destruction. And whoever says that Hamas, that these people are freedom fighters, no, freedom fighters don’t do that. Freedom fighters don’t hunt kids, don’t hurt women and the elderly from house to house and room to room.”

Omar has faced backlash in recent weeks for her calls for a ceasefire. The war in Israel, which began Oct. 7, has resulted in thousands of casualties on both sides.

Al Aqidi, who is originally from Iraq, said she is concerned that there are terrorists already in the United States due to the Biden administration’s relaxed border policies.

“We have no idea who’s coming through our borders. We have no idea about the ideology that some of these people have. … We don’t know how many,” she said. “I’m so disappointed in the Biden administration for this policy, and I hope it will change this next year. … Any respectable country around the world should be in charge of its borders.”

Other Squad members have also come under heat recently for voting against a recent resolution that supported Israel. Six of the eight Squad members voted against the resolution, including Omar. The other two voted “present.”

“It’s deeply disappointing,” Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) told reporters at a campaign event Tuesday. “I’m disappointed that progressives — who look out for the underdog, the diminished and the disenfranchised, those who are being persecuted — to not recognize what just happened on Oct. 7 in such graphic form is really disconcerting and appalling.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to Omar’s office for comment.
