After sustaining the injury in early January, the actor had to be airlifted to a local hospital. Following his injury, his family reported that Renner underwent surgery for “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”

Days after the incident, the Washoe County sheriff in Nevada held a press conference in which he revealed that the injury occurred when the actor was attempting to use his snow plow to free his car, which a family member was driving, from the snow. The plow then began to roll, running over Renner.

The actor has remained in good spirits while recovering, sharing updates with his fans from the hospital. On Jan. 5, he shared a video from his hospital bed of one of his family members massaging his head.
