A signed Tom Brady rookie card has sold for $2.4 million, reaching the highest price of any football card sold at public auction in 2022.
The record-setting card was from the 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket set and had reached the $1 million bidding mark within 16 hours of the auction opening, according to a report.

Only 100 such Brady cards were ever produced, and this one has an autograph from the quarterback that received a perfect grade.
PWCC Marketplace put on the auction and posted a video of the card to social media on Wednesday.
Hitting the $2.4 million mark makes the signed Brady card the third-highest public auction price for a card of its kind, the report noted.
Only two other trading cards have sold for higher prices at public auctions this year.
