The deadline for individual filers with little or no income to complete a simplified tax return to see if they qualify for unclaimed COVID-19 stimulus payments or child tax credits is on Nov. 15. As many as 9 million or 10 million people who have not yet received these payments, which may be worth a combined total of up to $3,200, may be eligible, according to the Government Accountability Office.

SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME PAYMENT: $841 CHECK TO BE SENT TO MILLIONS IN 21 DAYS

Those who made less than $75,000 per year or joint filers who made less than $150,000 per year were eligible for the three stimulus checks of varying amounts. Those who do not file taxes because of how little income they earn have until Nov. 15 to fill out a simplified tax return form to see whether they are eligible for any of the relief payments.

Additionally, families with children are eligible for the child tax credit, which aims to reduce financial hardship and food insecurity. About 84% of children nationwide benefited from those credits between July and December 2021.
