Recipients of a food and utility subsidy program in Chelsea, Massachusetts, will receive their final payment from the program in 26 days.

These payments, ranging from $200 to $400 in value, will be given to 738 selected households on May 15. The funds from this initiative, called the Chelsea Eats program, are meant to subsidize food and utility costs. A Chelsea spokesperson told the Washington Examiner that the funds are loaded on recipients’ debit cards, which were issued in early March.

To be eligible, families had to have been residents of Chelsea with a household income of 30% less than the area median. Households of one must make less than $29,450, and households of two must make less than $33,650 to be part of the program. The threshold increased for each additional member of the household.

The amount issued to recipients depends on how many people are in the household. A household of one receives $200, a household of two receives $300, and a household of three or more receives $400, according to the program’s website.

This payment marks the third and final payment for the program. The first payment was issued on March 15, and the second was issued on April 15.

The spokesperson informed the Washington Examiner that the program would be discontinued after this next payment.
