Dallas Cowboys legend and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin has been pulled from his role in Super Bowl coverage from NFL Network and ESPN following allegations of misconduct involving a woman.
Irvin, 56, said his interaction with the woman, which supposedly occurred on Feb. 5 in Glendale, Arizona, was brief and he engaged in no physical contact other than a handshake, according to a Wednesday report.

“Honestly, I’m a bit baffled with it all,” Irvin said. “This all happened in a 45-second conversation in the lobby. When I got back after going out … I came into the lobby, and I talked to somebody. I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds.”
“We shook hands. Then, I left. … That’s all I know.”
Irvin characterized the short encounter as “friendly.”
“I don’t really recall that conversation, to tell you the truth,” he said. “We were out drinking. It was just a friendly conversation. ‘What’s up?’ I don’t even know. … I am totally perplexed.”
Exact details regarding the woman’s accusations have not been confirmed, but the three-time Super Bowl champion will not be seen in any further coverage of Sunday’s big game, the report noted.
“Michael Irvin will not be a part of NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage,” NFL Media Vice President of Communications Alex Riethmiller said in a statement.
The former Cowboy was also slated to appear on Friday’s edition of ESPN’s First Take, but a release from the network says he will no longer appear on the program, the report noted.

Video exists of the encounter, according to Irvin, and local police said they have no knowledge of the incident, according to the report.
“What law did I break?” Irvin said. “There was definitely nothing physical. That’s honestly all that happened. Nobody was in my room. It was a 45-second conversation in the lobby, a handshake, and we left. I don’t know. I don’t know what this is, and it’s running me crazy.”
