Donald Trump’s presidential campaign rolled out an endorsement seal on Friday to help differentiate between those who the former president has endorsed and those who only claim he has.
The gold seal, emblazoned with the words “Official Team Trump,” is intended to stop scammers that prey on the former president’s donors. The seal will be used by a group of candidates and committees that Trump has publicly endorsed.

“Unfortunately, some candidates, PACs, and their fundraising vendors have drained millions of dollars from President Trump’s donors by falsely claiming that they support President Trump, that the President supports them, and that the funds received in response to the solicitations will support, help, or defend President Trump,” Trump’s campaign said in a statement. “The Seal will be a powerful signal to President Trump’s loyal donors that the sender is on Team Trump and is not a scammer.”
Those who have been marked with the seal are encouraged to use it on social media, advertisements, and merchandise, the campaign said. But those who falsely use the digital art file could face legal action.

The news comes after Trump sent a warning letter to the National Republican Campaign Committee of the House and 10 conservative consulting firms in March. He warned them not to use his likeness in any fundraising message. Trump’s campaign also sent a similar cease-and-desist letter in March 2021 to the NRCC, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and Republican National Committee.
Trump’s campaign said it would be posting a full list of people that the former president endorses on its website. Those who are approached for a donation are encouraged to check the list before paying money to any group. That list has not been posted so far.
