“I’m Tim Sheehy. Whether it was in war or business, I see problems and solve them. America needs conservative leaders who love our country, and that’s why I’m running for the United States Senate,” Sheehy said in his launch video.
“I want to create a better future for my kids and your children and grandchildren. Our campaign is about service, God, and country, not politics as usual,” he added.
National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Steve Daines (R-MT) said he “could not be happier” that Sheehy has entered the Senate race in the Big Sky State.
“Tim Sheehy is a decorated veteran, successful businessman, and a great Montanan. I could not be happier that he has decided to enter the Montana Senate race,” Daines said in a statement.

Tester, who has served in the Senate since 2007, announced his reelection campaign in February. Sheehy is Tester’s first declared GOP opponent for 2024.
The Senate seat in Montana is widely viewed as a key race for the Republicans as they look to take control in the upper chamber of Congress. There are three Senate races in 2024 in which a Democratic incumbent is running in a state that voted for the GOP in the 2020 presidential election.
