Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) rapid response page on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, posted a compilation of times former President Donald Trump forgot who is in the White House.
The Sunday post shifted the age conversation from President Joe Biden, who is often discussed in terms of age and viability, to Trump, who regularly puts out a message of strength.

“What is going on with Donald Trump?” the post began. “In just the past 2 months, he’s forgotten who is in the White House **6 times** — confusing Biden for both Bush AND Obama.”
The post referred to former President Barack Obama, and a video purporting to show instances of Trump’s confusion was attached to it.

“[Anthony] Fauci became big in the Bush administration – in the uh, it’s almost the same thing – in the Biden administration,” the video quoted Trump saying. The video continued to show purported instances of Trump mistaking Biden for Obama.
Age and mental acuity have become talking points leading up to the 2024 election. Biden is 80 years old; Trump is 77.
A CBS poll from September showed 80% of Americans worry about politicians over 75 being out of touch. The poll also showed 78% had concerns about job performance ability for those over 75.

Biden would be 86 at the end of a second term and Trump would be 82, putting both candidates well over the benchmark for the poll of being 75.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the life expectancy in the United States is 76.4 years – men are expected to live for 73.5 years, and women are expected to live for 79.3 years.
