Former President Donald Trump repeatedly taunted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) while mocking Democrats’ midterm prospects at a rally Sunday in Florida.

The 45th president made the comments at his Sunday campaign event in Miami, Fla., where he stumped for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections. His remarks come just two days after Paul Pelosi, the House speaker’s elderly husband, was released from the hospital following a violent, late-night assault in the Pelosi’s San Francisco, California, home. The 82-year-old venture capitalist required surgery for wounds from the hammer attack, which has been widely condemned by most major political leaders.

Trump told the crowd that once Republicans retook the House of Representatives in this week’s midterms, GOP lawmakers were “going to end Crazy Nancy Pelosi’s political career once and for all.”

The comment immediately sparked chants of “lock her up” from the crowd, causing the former president to respond: “We have a feisty crowd today.”

Later on, Trump railed against the “cabal” of Democrats he claimed are plotting to take him down, before turning his focus again to Pelosi.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi, by the way how is she doing lately?” he said. “How’s she doing?”

Paul Pelosi was released from the hospital on Friday. The speaker’s office said he “remains under doctors’ care” as he recovers.

Last weekend, Trump condemned the attack as “a terrible thing” before comparing the violence in cities like San Francisco and Chicago to Afghanistan. Days later, he called what occurred a “sad situation” during a radio interview before questioning if there was more to the story regarding the assault.

“It’s weird things going on in that household in the last couple of weeks,” Trump told conservative radio host Chris Stigall. “You know, probably, you and I are better off not talking about it. The glass, it seems, was broken from the inside to the out and, you know, so, it wasn’t a break in, it was a break out.”

The 45th president is not the only member of his family publicly mulling their theories about the relationship between Mr. Pelosi and his suspected attacker. Donald Trump Jr. shared a post on Twitter this week that included a picture of underwear and a hammer with the caption, “Got my Paul Pelosi Halloween costume ready.”

“The internet remains undefeated,” Trump Jr. added
