Fox News host Tucker Carlson applauded Elon Musk for closing the deal to take over Twitter and looking to “restore free speech” on his show Thursday.
In his remarks, Carlson also expressed his delight in CEO Parag Agrawal and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal leaving their posts at the social media giant. They were reportedly fired and hastily pushed out of the building.

“Elon Musk officially owns Twitter. He bought it not to make money but to restore free speech to America. If he actually does that, this country will change forever. Immediately after the news came out, the CEO of Twitter, Parag Agrawal, who came to this country and immediately started destroying our freedom, and the CFO, Ned Segal, are both gone,” Carlson said.
The host of Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, the top-rated cable news show that attracts millions of views a night, also expressed cautious optimism for the future, saying, “We’ll see what happens. It could be amazing.”
