Twitter for desktop appeared to briefly go down for people across multiple countries Monday.
Outages, particularly for the website, spiked around 8:30 p.m. in places across the globe, including in the United States, according to thousands of user reports collected by Downdetector.
Roughly an hour later, the site appeared to be back up and running for desktop in the U.S. and Canada.
The Washington Examiner reached out to Twitter for comment.

The major disruption comes after Twitter accepted Tesla CEO Elon Musk‘s $44 billion takeover, which has yet to be finalized.
