Footage of a senior Twitter executive making fun of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for having Asperger’s went viral Tuesday after it was released by Project Veritas. Musk revealed that he has the syndrome last year on Saturday Night Live.
“He has Asperger’s, so he’s special — you’re special needs. You’re literally special needs,” the executive, identified as Lead Client Partner Alex Martinez, said, according to the footage.
“So, I can’t even take what you’re saying seriously,” Martinez said, referring to Musk.

Echoing another senior Twitter executive, Martinez emphasized his belief that Twitter does not care primarily about free speech.
“The rest of us who have been here believe in something that’s good for the planet and not just to give people free speech,” he said, explaining the platform’s misinformation policy.
“It’s going to be hard for him to be like, ‘Uh, because people should make their own decision.’ It’s like, no, but people don’t know how to make a rational decision if you don’t put out correct things that are supposed to be out in the public,” Martinez said.
The clips released by Project Veritas appear to have been filmed during one-on-one social events, including dates, with high-level Twitter employees, according to a comment made by Martinez.
Twitter is instructing its employees to be on the watch for groups like Project Veritas, according to an internal message titled “Targeting of Tweeps,” Martinez explained.
“It’s like some group that’s just trying to just out the employees,” Martinez said, referring to Project Veritas. “Like, they’re trying to go on dates with them, like this, and record them and then go sell it to the New York Times and say this is what the Twitter employee just said.”
“This is what’s really happening,” he told the individual filming.
“This is what they’re telling us to not do. You’re lucky that you met me organically ’cause I would be questioning everything about you,” he added.
