The vehicle used by an escaped Alabama inmate and a missing corrections officer who is suspected of helping him escape was found in Tennessee on Thursday night, a week after the two were last seen, according to authorities.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office does not believe the inmate, 38-year-old Casey White, and the officer, 56-year-old Vicky White, who are not related, are still in the area of Bethesda, Tennessee. The abandoned orange SUV was recovered April 29 but was not connected to the suspects until Thursday, said Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton.
“Right now, we’re trying to canvass the area for any witnesses,” Singleton said in a press briefing. “Also trying to resurface to see any stolen vehicles recorded in that area during that time, so that’s what we’re following up on.”

Prior to Casey White’s escape, Vicky White closed on the sale of her home for just over $95,000 on April 18 and withdrew approximately $90,000 in cash from multiple banks. It is not clear why she might have helped Casey White escape, though Singleton said the only logical explanation would be “a jailhouse romance.”
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to Casey White’s capture and a $5,000 reward for information leading to Vicky White. Gov. Kay Ivey (R-AL) has offered a $5,000 reward each for information leading to the apprehension of either individual.
Vicky White told colleagues she was removing Casey White from jail April 29 to take him to a mental evaluation at the county courthouse, though neither showed up to their destination, Singleton said.
Casey White was in jail awaiting a murder trial in Alabama and was already serving a 75-year sentence on attempted murder and kidnapping charges, according to Fox News.
