“He showed up late at night and we had a conversation,” Ramaswamy told the outlet during the Republican Jewish Coalition’s weekend donor gathering. According to Ramaswamy, the two have not had conversations about political donations, but only discussed “cultural direction for the country.”

The CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, once endorsed Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for president before DeSantis launched his campaign. Musk’s wealth, making him the richest man in the world, lies mostly in the stock of his companies, which constantly fluctuates.

“He and I are increasingly alone in this world as being free speech absolutists and that I think is different from a lot of people in both parties,” Ramaswamy said. “I think that’s something he and I see eye to eye on.”

The entrepreneur is facing off against former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former governor to New Jersey Chris Christie, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), and DeSantis in the race to win the GOP presidential nomination.
