A disheveled news anchor in New York was suspended from CBS6 Albany after she slurred her way through Saturday’s evening broadcast.
Heather Kovar saw the camera cut away from her during the broadcast as she misspoke, slurred her words, and stumbled her way through a weather report.
She said sleep deprivation and exhaustion were the cause of her speaking snafus, according to a report.

She said she had “returned early from family leave following my dad’s death. On Friday, I notified the station I would not be renewing my contract, which expires July 31. Saturday, I was scheduled to work the early morning 6 a.m. shift and the evening shift. I was sleep-deprived and exhausted.”
Viewers and social media users are blaming substance abuse.
“She drank a double,” one Twitter user posted.
“Glad to see people enjoying themselves and managing to get to work early morning, with cocktail confidence,” another tweeted.
The station suspended her Sunday, the report noted.
