The mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, slammed President Joe Biden Monday and called his Presidents Day visit to Ukraine a “slap in the face.”
“That was the biggest slap in the face,” Mayor Trent Conaway told Fox News anchor Jesse Watters. “That tells you, right now, he doesn’t care about us.”

The community of East Palestine has been reeling since a Feb. 3 derailment saw a train carrying 20 cars of hazardous materials have 11 derail, causing environmental and safety concerns to the surrounding area.

In the wake of the toxic exposure and evacuations, the Biden administration has been chastised for its alleged cavalier handling of the incident.
The Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Health and Human Services are among many agencies that traveled to East Palestine to address the crisis, but Conaway said what Biden and the federal government are doing is not enough.

“He can send every agency he wants to, but I found that out this morning in one of the briefings that he was in the Ukraine giving millions of dollars away to people over there, not to us, and I’m furious,” he said.
“Presidents Day in our country, he’s over in Ukraine,” he added. “That tells you what kind of guy he is.”
