“It didn’t matter who started it. The issue is both teams were involved in the altercation,” said Dr. Silvia Salinas, the executive director of athletics for Dallas ISD.

The fight began following an incident between two players, according to Salinas.

“I just know that maybe there was a hard hit, and a player reacted to that,” he said.

Eventually, fans from the stands joined in the fight, according to the report, and police were forced to break up the brawl.

All of Roosevelt’s varsity players will serve a half-game suspension.

“Our inquiry into the incident at the Thursday night Football game between Eastern Hills High School and Dallas Roosevelt High School remains active,” a statement from Fort Worth ISD read.
