The House China select committee, led by Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), will hold a hearing on Thursday morning addressing the Biden administration’s approach to dealing with the nation’s emerging top competitor on the world stage.

Thursday’s hearing comes on the back of several officials traveling to China to smooth over relations and bolster economic and political ties with the country.

John Kerry, the administration’s top climate official, recently spent four days working with Chinese leaders to build bridges between growing diplomatic tensions and common goals the countries have regarding climate change.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
