President Joe Biden will deliver a speech at the International Association of Fire Fighters Legislative Conference on Monday, the latest in several stops the president is making ahead of a 2024 presidential bid.
The conference, which began on Sunday and goes until Wednesday, will feature appearances from members of Congress and Christopher Godfrey, administrator of the Federal Employees’ Compensation Division at the Labor Department, throughout the week.

In December, Biden signed the Firefighters Fairness Act, which improves disability and retirement benefits for federal firefighters, particularly if they contracted serious illnesses, such as cancer, heart disease, or lung disease, on the job.
This is the president’s latest stop after appearing in Selma, Alabama, to commemorate “Bloody Sunday,” a moment in the civil rights movement that led to landmark voting legislation close to 60 years ago.
Biden has not announced his candidacy for the presidency but has said during numerous interviews that he intends to run in 2024. So far, only one Democrat, Marianne Williamson, has entered the race.

At 80, Biden is the oldest president in U.S. history, and he would be 82 at the start of a second term in office and 86 by its conclusion.
The president’s speech will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Monday at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
