President Joe Biden is set to address the administration’s plans to establish the Office of Environmental Justice at the White House.
Biden will sign an executive order, “Revitalizing Our Nation’s Commitment to Environmental Justice for All,” on Friday to outline his environmental justice goals, enacting efforts to amend federal programs, provide funding to agencies, and strengthen environmental laws.

“With this action, the President is working to ensure that all people — regardless of race, background, income, ability, Tribal affiliation, or zip code — can benefit from the vital safeguards enshrined in our nation’s foundational environmental and civil rights laws,” a statement from the White House reads.

Biden is scheduled to address his environmental agenda at 2:15 p.m. Eastern time from the White House Rose Garden.
