The Senate Appropriations Committee is holding a hearing on the Biden administration’s national security supplemental request.

The hearing is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m., and it will feature testimony from Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

The Biden administration submitted its supplemental request earlier this month, which it said revolves around “enforcement, deterrence, and diplomacy” on the border.

The funding request would allow the Biden administration to hire an additional 1,000 Customs and Border Protection agents, 1,300 Border Patrol agents, and 1,600 asylum officers and associated support staff. The funding would also cover upgrades in detection technology.
