The Senate will meet on Monday to resume consideration of a military appropriations bill, which was pitched as part of a minibus proposal that would have included two other appropriations bills.

Just before the House broke for August recess last month, the House passed its first fiscal 2024 spending bill, pushing through one of the 12 appropriations bills needed before the government funding deadline of Sept. 30. The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act includes $19.1 billion in defense spending for military construction and family housing to support military households.

The Senate is expected to meet at 3 p.m. EDT.
