Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said “the influence of big media, big tech, and big government” must be stopped while praising new Twitter CEO Elon Musk as “doing a service” to the First Amendment and Constitution by releasing files related to the social media platform’s history of suppressing free speech.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said “the influence of big media, big tech, and big government” must be stopped while praising new Twitter CEO Elon Musk as “doing a service” to the First Amendment and Constitution by releasing files related to the social media platform’s history of suppressing free speech.

Earlier this week, Musk announced he would soon publish documents displaying Twitter’s suppression of free speech prior to his tenure. He had previously noted that Twitter must come clean regarding the censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 presidential election, tweeting it was “necessary to restore public trust.”

‘PUBLIC DESERVES TO KNOW’: MUSK SOON TO RELEASE FILES ON TWITTER’S SUPPRESSED FREE SPEECH

Jordan appeared on Fox News’s Hannity Thursday and likened Twitter’s suppression of information to the influence of media and technology companies, along with big government, in their politicizing of the FBI and the weaponizing of the Department of Justice.

“We know Twitter did the same thing — that it was pushing down, throttling back information about the Hunter Biden story, but it probably did a lot more. It probably went after conservatives and things they were saying and made sure that those comments, that information didn’t get to the country,” Jordan said, noting a video Musk tweeted of “stay woke” T-shirts found at the Twitter headquarters. “Elon Musk is doing a service to the First Amendment, doing a service to the Constitution, doing a service to the country, and I think, frankly, the world in that he is bringing this all to light.”

The Republican representative also blasted China’s influence on the U.S. economy and culture through major organizations such as Apple, Nike, TikTok, and the NBA.

Jordan said former president Donald Trump was unique in his pushing back against China, big government, and big tech — something not happening under President Joe Biden.

“Now we have Joe Biden there and it’s went [in] exactly the opposite direction,” Jordan said. “That’s why this is all connected because of the influence of big media, big tech, and big government in impacting our election.”

Jordan said there have been multiple whistleblowers who have come forward with claims of corruption within the FBI and DOJ. He pointed toward the days when Republicans control the House of Representatives.

“We’re going to get the facts out there,” Jordan added. “That’s the first step. You have to expose it if you are going to stop it. We’re committed to doing that.”
