The Washington Examiner’s Samantha-Jo Roth claimed Monday that President Joe Biden is not traveling to battleground states like Nevada and Arizona “because the president is really a drag on these candidates.”

On Arizona, Roth told Fox News host Neil Cavuto, “It’s very clear that this race, especially in the Senate, is very, very close.”

“These candidates are really trying to separate themselves from the president. We’ve seen that in their approach, you know — having the president there would be a problem,” she added of Democratic candidates across the two states.

She further discussed former President Barack Obama’s upcoming travel in the area. “The big question is, will bringing Obama or any of these Democratic people out, will that hinder some of the efforts there?” Roth asked.

“You have to remember, a lot of these states … they’re really going to be relying heavily on these independent voters,” she explained. “They’re going to have to get some of them, even some that are Republican, in the case of Arizona.”
