On Tuesday’s episode of The View, a fed-up Whoopi Goldberg told gun owners, “You can’t have [an AR-15] because it kills people and children and I’m sick of it.”
The hosts continued discussing firearms in the wake of the Uvalde school shooting and the Buffalo grocery store shooting.
“This AR-15 has got to go,” Goldberg said. “There is too much at stake.”

“I don’t care, NRA. You got to give that gun up. You have your other ‘yeehaw’ guns, whatever you want. The AR-15 is not a hunting gun,” she added.
“This gun is meant to kill people. That’s what it’s for, and you can’t have it anymore.”
“I don’t see the need for AR-15s,” host Sarah Haines chimed in.
She then explained that “no one came for your other weapons” during the 10-year Federal Assault Weapons Ban signed into law by President Bill Clinton. “So, that’s a dead point.”
Goldberg further compared the Second Amendment to the right to an abortion, saying, “I don’t want all your guns the way you don’t want to take away all my rights to abortion.”
“I don’t want all your guns. I want that AR-15. I want it.”
“And we’re going to vote it out. So it’s going to not be acceptable,” she concluded.

The shooting in Uvalde left 21 dead, including 19 children. New revelations on the events leading up to the tragedy paint the picture of an error-ridden police response. Police reportedly avoided confronting the gunman for more than 40 minutes while parents begged them to save their children. The Department of Justice has since opened a critical incident review into the police response.
