Journalist Megyn Kelly joked musician Taylor Swift could “kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye” after Swift’s recent endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, which she gave shortly after Tuesday night’s presidential debate.

Swift’s endorsement marks the monthslong end of speculation over whether she would vocalize her support for the Democratic presidential candidate, writing on Instagram that she was voting for Harris “because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

In reaction to Swift’s endorsement, Kelly was especially critical of the singer’s praise for Harris’s running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), who had been “standing up for LGBTQ+ rights.”

“I’m allowed to criticize Taylor Swift, and I don’t give a s*** who gets upset. This is disgusting,” Kelly said on The Megyn Kelly Show. “If she wants to vote Harris-Walz, she can do it all she wants, but to say the reason she’s doing it is because of Tim Walz’s stance on LGBTQ? F you, Taylor Swift! And F all of the people who want to see these children have body parts chopped off and watched them sterilized under the age of consent, and then will ride off to their multi-gazillion dollar mansions never to think of them again!”

During the same episode, Kelly also spoke harshly of ABC News’s handling of the debate, which she said felt as if it was “three fighters in the ring pummeling one opponent.”

Her criticism mirrors what others have said about the debate and its moderators. Billionaire Elon Musk argued the moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, were not entirely fair to former President Donald Trump.

Trump, meanwhile, has not felt too fazed about the debate, writing on Truth Social that he thought it was his best debate “EVER.” He also brushed off Swift’s endorsement Wednesday morning, stating he prefers her friend, Brittany Mahomes, “much better.”

Earlier this year, Trump claimed there was “no way” Swift would endorse President Joe Biden when the president was still seeking reelection, stating that he was “responsible” for the Music Modernization Act that updated copyright law for the streaming era. The former president’s claim was made even though Swift endorsed Biden ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
