“He’s a family man. He’s a godly man, and there’s no other person I’d want to support, to be the first candidate that I’m endorsing,” Butker told Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle after his first political event with Hawley.
“It was amazing,” Butker described the moment. “It was like a little game, you know? I was driving into the home stadium. Some away fans there, chanting outside, going in there listening to ‘Born in the USA,’ and just having a great time.”
“Talking about traditional values that we believe will make this country great again,” he added.
Butker said he and Hawley have developed a relationship over the last several years, and the senator welcomed Butker’s endorsement as an “honor.”

“This is a guy who is not afraid to speak the truth, who’s not afraid to say that we have got to stand on the principles that this country was founded on,” Hawley said. “When the Left came after him in such a crazy, nutty way this last spring, he didn’t give an inch, and we need more of that in the United States of America.”
Butker came under attack from the Left in May after he told young women not to listen to the “most diabolical lies told to you.”
“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,” the Super Bowl champion said during his commencement address at Benedictine College.
Butker addressed the hate he received with host Laura Ingraham and said he was trying to “speak life for so many women” dedicated to being homemakers and raising children.
“It’s a beautiful role, but it’s not a role that should be diminished,” he said. “I know maybe it’s counter-cultural to speak those values, but I was able to see my wonderful mother sacrifice so much to be at the home as much as she could to raise me.”
“I was able to experience my wife, now that we have three children, being able to be present with the children. I see that amazing bond that they have, and I go, wow, this is so important for our society, and there is nothing wrong. There is nothing shameful if you are a woman and you want to spend time with your family and raise your children.”

Ingraham asked Butker if his support for Hawley meant he would vote for former President Donald Trump.
“I think you have to vote for whoever is going to be the most pro-life,” Butker said. “We have to be prayerful men that put God first, and I think that’s what’s going to be best for our country.”
