Russian President Vladimir Putin often talks a big game about his country’s nuclear superweapons, but in truth, his nation’s “high-level” technology is what the boys back home in the United States were playing with nearly 80 years ago.

This, of course, didn’t stop him from strutting around like a tough guy in December, delivering grandiose speeches about successful tests of his nuclear-powered Burevestnik strategic cruise missile and nuclear-powered, nuclear-capable Poseidon underwater drone.

“They are nuclear-powered devices, and that is why they will be unique and one-of-a-kind in their categories, ensuring strategic parity and security for Russia,” he said on Dec. 17, according to a Sputnik translator.
