Tesla owner Luke Erwin took to social media to warn people against buying their own version of the luxury electric vehicle.
The Australian social media influencer posted a video on TikTok noting six things about his Tesla Model 3 that he says are the reason why he was “probably going to go back to a [gas-powered] car.”
Erwin warned that the car can become “boiling hot” as the sun shines directly through the glass roof. He also complained about the high cost associated with the car’s upgrades.

“The upgrades for auto-summon and auto-drive is, like, $10,000 [or around $6,800 in U.S. dollars], and then the most simple one is like $5,000 [or nearly $3,400 in U.S. dollars],” Erwin said. “I didn’t know about that.”
Erwin said his “biggest disappointment” is with the cost and inconvenience of charging.
“I thought all the Superchargers were free until I got the car and found out the Tesla Superchargers actually charge like crazy,” Erwin said.
He also shared frustration with the extra entertainment costs and the lack of driving range reliability.
“I get range anxiety,” Erwin said. “If there is 80% charge left, you don’t know how much that is. It’s a stressful time.”
Erwin did say he thought the Tesla was a “good car” but has lots of “new things to get used to.”
He praised the car’s storage, touchscreen features, and phone-charging capabilities.
Erwin ended his video suggesting he might do a “more positive” review at some point but that, at the moment, he was “in the mood to roast it.”
The TikTok video has gone viral since it was first posted two days ago.

Other Tesla owners have recently expressed frustration with the workings of the electric vehicle.
Virginia radio host Domenick Nati shared a video on Christmas Eve showing how his Tesla would not charge, leaving him stranded and having to cancel his holiday plans.
