Although DeSantis has yet to make a formal announcement on a presidential bid, discussions surrounding his possible candidacy have been going on for months. Roe has signed on to be an adviser to the super PAC Never Back Down, according to Politico. The super PAC also touts seasoned Republican strategist Chris Jankowski as its executive director, and Ken Cuccinelli, who served as a Homeland Security official to former President Donald Trump, as the super PAC’s chairman.

DeSantis is considered the biggest threat to Trump for the Republican nomination, should the Florida governor announce his decision to run, but former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) and Vivek Ramaswamy are currently the only candidates besides Trump to announce a run to be the Republican nominee.

Despite not being an announced candidate, some prominent Republicans, including Rep. Chip Roy (TX), have endorsed DeSantis.
