Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he believes introducing articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden without due process would be “dead on arrival” in the Senate.

Graham claimed on Friday that if there were legitimate problems with the current president that were grounds for impeachment, it should be addressed through the proper processes.

“What’s being done in the House to go straight to the floor with articles of impeachment — we criticized the Democrats for not giving Trump any due process. I think this is dead on arrival,” Graham told the Hill.

“It’s important that we follow the process, and if you believe that President Biden has done something this impeachable, take it through the committee, give him a chance to respond, and we’ll see what happens,” he added.

Graham also claimed impeaching someone without due process is “irresponsible.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) introduced a measure on Tuesday evening to impeach Biden over his handling of the border. The legislation was guaranteed a vote on the House floor because it was put forward as a privileged resolution, but the move lacked support from key House Republicans, including Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

McCarthy claimed Boebert’s actions could harm the serious work the House is doing, including the House’s investigation of some of the allegations surrounding the president and his son Hunter Biden.
