The House of Representatives is set to reconvene for a third round of voting for House Speaker on Friday, as House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) continues his bid to secure the speaker’s gavel.
The House has been without a speaker since former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was booted from office by eight Republicans and all House Democrats.

Democrats in the chamber have repeatedly put forward House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) as their candidate, but he would need Republican votes in order to become the next speaker.
The House is expected to reconvene at 10 a.m. EDT.
