The View’s Joy Behar criticized Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) over false statements she made about an explosion at a Gaza hospital, comparing her to former President Donald Trump.
The hosts of the talk show were discussing the rise in antisemitism in the United States, with co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin claiming that antisemitism is a bipartisan issue. Griffin stated that Tlaib, along with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), have “dabbled in dangerous antisemitism,” with Behar mentioning Tlaib’s recent comments on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital explosion, which occurred on Oct. 17 in Gaza.

“Rashida will still not admit that that attack on the hospital came from Hamas,” Behar said. “They have video showing it, but she goes out there and lies — like Trump.”
Tlaib has refused to abandon claims she made that the Israeli air force is responsible for the bombing, despite other members of Congress, such as Omar, walking back their previous condemnations of Israel. On Monday, Tlaib released a new statement saying that media outlets have “raised doubts” on the evidence offered by Israel and the Gaza Ministry of Health, suggesting that an independent investigation was necessary.
“I cannot uncritically accept Israel’s denials of responsibility as fact, especially in light of confirmation from the World Health Organization that Israel has bombed numerous medical facilities in Gaza and reports from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society of ongoing threats from the Israeli military to evacuate hospitals,” Tlaib continued.
Tlaib’s refusal to relinquish her statements has drawn bipartisan pushback from members of Congress, with Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) saying it was “truly disturbing” for some lawmakers to immediately blame Israel for the hospital explosion.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) stated Tuesday that she would introduce a resolution to censure Tlaib for “antisemitic activity” and sympathizing with a terrorist organization. The resolution, obtained by the Washington Examiner, also seeks to censure Tlaib for “leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex,” referring to a mass protest inside the U.S. Capitol last week that saw hundreds of demonstrators arrested; Tlaib had spoken to a crowd during a rally led by the organizers of the protest.
Greene stated she believes “every single Republican” will vote to censure Tlaib, along with some Democrats, saying “it would be shocking to me if they didn’t vote for it.”
