A 13-year-old was charged with plotting a mass shooting at an Ohio synagogue.
A trial is set for Dec. 20 in Stark County Family Court, according to court documents obtained by the Canton Repository. The documents allege that the suspect put together a detailed plan to shoot up the synagogue on the online social media platform Discord.

The suspect “did create a detailed plan to complete a mass shooting at the Temple Israel on the Discord platform which was reported to law enforcement and required an immediate investigatory response and notification of public individuals and agencies including the school system which caused significant public alarm within those agencies,” the filing read.
The threat was discovered on Sept. 1. The suspect is now being charged with two misdemeanors — juvenile counts of inducing panic and disorderly conduct.
