The Washington Examiner’s Tiana Lowe Doescher suggested Nikki Haley’s opponents see her as a threat in the 2024 election.

Lowe Doescher shared her analysis on Your World with Neil Cavuto as the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary approaches in less than three weeks. As a commentary writer, she responded to the comments the former South Carolina governor made about the Civil War, where Haley left out slavery as a reason behind the historical conflict.

Haley’s response “was not a very cogent answer” according to Lowe Doescher, but luckily the comment was made during a holiday week “when people are not as keyed in” to the news cycle. However, according to Lowe Doescher, the comment proved Haley’s prowess by the response it received.

“That being said, the fact that you have the Biden-Harris campaign and the DeSantis campaign toting at the same line against her shows that they realize that she does have some upward momentum,” Lowe Doescher said.

A RealClearPolitics poll average of New Hampshire surveys shows support for Haley at 21.3%, with former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie behind at 12.3%. This is also the only state poll that lists Trump, largely considered the front-runner, at 44.3%, where all other state polls have him at over 50%.

Haley received the endorsement of Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH), whose state will host the first primary in the nation on Jan. 23. Haley’s home state of South Carolina will host its primary shortly after.
