In eight days, the Alaska Department of Revenue will send out checks from the Permanent Fund Dividend to an additional swath of residents who have yet to receive their payments from the program.

Those who will get their PFD payments on March 21 include those who had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of Wednesday and have yet to receive their checks from the program from 2023 or earlier.

The annual payment amount for the Permanent Fund Dividend is determined by the state’s annual mineral revenues for that year. In 2023, the check given out through the program was worth $1,312, with distribution beginning in October.

“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the 2023 payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.

“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” Crum said. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
