Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said that she “could not” vote for President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump in 2024.

Murkowski did not say whether Trump or Biden were worse, saying that she wouldn’t vote for either if those were the two nominees in 2024, according to NBC News.

“I could not” vote for Trump, she told the outlet, then adding, “I can’t vote for Biden.”

Murkowski, one of the most prominent centrist Republicans in the Senate, previously revealed that she did not vote for Trump in 2020. On Friday, she threw her full support behind former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley. Despite her struggling performance, Murkowski remains adamant in her support.

“It’s not just a situation where Nikki is the lesser of the evils,” she explained to NBC News. “She is a qualified, competent, capable leader at a time when the country needs them. I refuse to accept that [Trump and Biden are] my only two choices.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to Murkowski for comment.

The Alaska senator was one of only a few Republicans to vote to convict Trump in his impeachment over the Jan. 6 riot. The former president supported a challenger against her in 2022, but the bid failed.
