Former President Donald Trump took aim at fellow Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on Saturday because he is “not MAGA.”
Trump posted his attack on Ramaswamy on his social media platform Truth Social ahead of his rally in Iowa. Ramaswamy similarly toured the state, as its caucus, the first nominating contest in the nation, is on Monday.
“Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter, ‘the best President in generations,’ etc,” Trump wrote, quoting Ramaswamy’s statement during an RNC debate last year. “Unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks. Very sly, but a vote for Vivek is a vote for the ‘other side’ — don’t get duped by this. Vote for ‘TRUMP,’ don’t waste your vote! Vivek is not MAGA.”
Ramaswamy took to X to respond, and while he did not directly address the former president’s remarks about him, he reiterated his support for Trump amid his legal battles.
“This system will stop at nothing to keep this man away from the White House,” Ramaswamy said.
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case in which Trump is alleged to have violated the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment on Jan. 6, 2021, to determine if he can be on the ballot.

Trump has maintained a massive lead in the polls for the GOP presidential nomination despite the various indictments against him, which include federal charges of mishandling classified documents.
The latest Suffolk University Political Research Center poll showed that Trump had 54% of support from likely Iowa Republican caucus voters, while former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley had 20%, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) had 13%, and Ramaswamy lagged behind at 6%.
