Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Sunday the United States is “cleaning out the bad guys” in previewing what steps President Donald Trump will take next on the national stage.
Graham presented two different hats while praising the president’s leadership, one reading “Free Cuba,” and the other “Make Iran Great Again.” Cuba has gained some attention after Trump hinted at plans in the country, with the senator saying Sunday that “the liberation of Cuba is upon us.”
“We’re marching through the world, we’re cleaning out the bad guys,” Graham said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. “We’re going to have relationships with new people that will make us prosperous and safe. I’ve never seen anybody like it.”
HUGO GURDON: TRUMP GETS THE LAST LAUGH
Graham described Trump as “Ronald Reagan plus” and said the president is “resetting the world.” He added that “Iran is going down, and Cuba is next.”
The U.S. and Israel struck Iran in late February, and Graham said Sunday, “You just wait to see” what happens in the next two weeks. He said the U.S. is “going to blow the hell” out of Iran’s regime and said there will be peace “like no other time” once the regime falls.
‘AT THE END OF THE LINE’: CUBA IN THE CROSSHAIRS AT TRUMP’S SHIELD OF AMERICAS SUMMIT
Trump said on Saturday that Cuba’s communist government is “at the end of the line” and cited the U.S.’s “historic transformation in Venezuela.” He said U.S. foreign policy is currently focused on the war with Iran, but Cuba will soon have “a great new life.”
The president’s comments on Cuba were made at an event detailing the new military coalition “Americas Counter Cartel Coalition,” which aims to curb drug violence from organized cartels.
