Fitness expert Jillian Michaels expressed frustration about Dr. Anthony Fauci‘s testimony before Congress and questioned why he had not been punished for his management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“How is Trump going to jail, but [Fauci] isn’t?” Michaels said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

She added, “Someone please make this make sense.”

The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases was pressed during the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic on Monday about his role in pushing masking and vaccine mandates and his knowledge of the lab leak theory, among other concerns regarding the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 83-year-old immunologist was asked about censorship of the medical profession during the pandemic, the crippling social distancing rules that he attempted to blame the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for administering, and his medical guidance on suggesting that the COVID-19 vaccine stopped transmission of the virus. Many observers of the hearing found the doctor’s answers frustrating and wanted accountability for his scientific guidance that affected people during the pandemic.

Michaels received blowback for her social media post.

“Trump’s a criminal and a con man who played on morons – like you,” former television host Keith Olbermann responded.

“Trump committed crimes. Fauci didn’t. Should make sense to you now,” former Virginia Rep. Denver Riggleman said.

Some fans questioned her political leanings.

“Ah damn!! Not my girl Jillian!! Girl, you’re in the MAGA Cult??” a woman wrote on X.

The celebrity trainer’s brand has been a no-nonsense approach to healthy living, nutrition, and fitness. Recently, she has taken that approach in her political opinions.

Michaels spoke out in February about leaving her home state of California because of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) policies. She said on comedian Bill Maher’s podcast that she moved to Miami because it “feels less crazy.”

The Biggest Loser television star explained to Maher how crime affected her personally after a repeat criminal offender broke into her home.

“Guess who let the guy out during COVID because I got the letter. Newsom!” Michaels told Maher, “It was the guy’s third offense, he broke into our house, he had duct tape and a video camera. Anyway, long story, third strike, guy goes to jail, gets let out during COVID. I mean, give me a f***ing break.”

The fitness trainer has also been outspoken about biological men in women’s sports.

“And if that’s your priority, if your overriding priority is going to be fairness over inclusion, you’ve got to turn to the data, and the data irrefutably shows that biological males are 10[%] to 30% stronger, faster, have better endurance, better aerobic capacity across the board,” she said on Fox News in April when discussing several West Virginia middle school students protesting a transgender track meet competitor.

On Wednesday, she also wrote a social media post tearing into the American Civil Liberties Union for ignoring “simple biological truths” on its website page on myths about one’s sex.

Michaels is no stranger to discussing LGBT issues after she publicly came out as gay in 2012. She is married to fashion designer Deshanna Marie Minuto.
