As has become common at Hollywood award shows in recent years, this year’s Golden Globes also became a vessel for left-wing political activism. Hollywood actors and actresses donned pins on their festive outfits displaying anti-ICE messaging in protest of the federal law enforcement agency tasked with removing illegal immigrants in the U.S.

Entertainers such as Mark Ruffalo, Ariana Grande, Jean Smart, Wanda Sykes, and Natasha Lyonne wore small circular pins with a white background and black text, according to multiple sources. One pin features the words “Be Good” in honor of Renee Good, the woman who died last week after being shot by an ICE agent after Good appeared to drive her car into him. Another variation of the pin contained the phrase “Ice Out,” in protest of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Ruffalo, known for movies such as The Avengers and 13 Going on 30, among others, used his platform on red carpet interviews before the award show to criticize ICE as well as President Donald Trump. The actor has been a staunch left-wing supporter and Trump critic for many years.

“This is for her,” Ruffalo told USA Today, showcasing the pin he wore for Renee Good. “This is for the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today. I know I’m one of them. I love this country, and what I’m seeing here happening is not America.”

“I want to be here to celebrate, and I am here to celebrate, and I’m proud to have a Golden Globe nomination,” Ruffalo added. “But also, this is not normal anymore, and so, I don’t know how I can be quiet.”

Ruffalo also had some harsh words for Trump.

THE MINNEAPOLIS SHOOTING: THAT SETTLES IT

“We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded,” said the “Hulk” actor. “He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality, but the guy is a convicted felon, a convicted rapist.”

“He’s a pedophile,” Ruffalo added. “He’s the worst human being. If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.”
