Republicans are praising President Donald Trump‘s move to send $90 Medicare checks to seniors nationwide as a politically savvy effort to reach one of the most reliable voting blocs ahead of the midterm elections, even as they acknowledge the payments may not be enough to overcome a difficult environment for the GOP.
The president recently announced that 20 million senior citizens enrolled in Medicare Part B were eligible for a one-time $90 check set to go out in early October. The funding will come out of the Medicare Improvement Fund.
