The House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets will hold a hearing on the CIA’s MKULTRA experiments on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The hearing will examine the history and timeline of the CIA’s MKULTRA project, which was a human experimentation program run during the Cold War from 1953 to 1973 to develop mind-control techniques to use during interrogations.
The hearing will also examine why the U.S. government was hesitant to declassify the experiments and how the apparent lack of transparency led to distrust from the American people.
