Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was hospitalized on Saturday night after his vehicle was struck from behind in New Hampshire.

According to his spokesman Michael Ragusa, Giuliani was helping a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident, remaining on the scene until police arrived. Shortly after returning to his vehicle and driving off, Giuliani’s vehicle “was struck from behind at full speed.”

Giuliani, 81, suffered a fractured vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg from the crash.

He is currently hospitalized, though Ragusa said Giuliani is “in good spirits and recovering tremendously.”

Ragusa later added that the crash was not a “targeted attack” on the former Trump lawyer.

“We ask everyone to respect Mayor Giuliani’s privacy and recovery, and refrain from spreading unfounded conspiracy theories,” he said.

Andrew Giuliani, Rudy’s son who is leading President Donald Trump’s task force on the 2026 World Cup, thanked the public for their prayers and praised his father in a short statement following the crash.

“As a son, I can tell you I’m honored to have a Dad that I can call the toughest SOB I’ve ever seen!” he said.

Giuliani was once known as “America’s mayor” due to his leadership of New York City after 9/11. Years later, he launched a failed presidential run in 2008, then emerged as an adviser during Trump’s successful 2016 presidential campaign.

Giuliani then served on Trump’s legal team until 2020, when he frequently attacked the legitimacy of that election. He was later disbarred in both New York and Washington, D.C., for those election fraud claims.
