The NXXT Women’s Classic tournament’s transgender winner issued a complaint after being banned from the tour.

Hailey Davidson, a biological male who identifies as a transgender woman, finished the tournament in January with a score of +4. It was Davidson’s first win in almost three years.

Davidson had already signed up for the next three tournaments at the time NXXT made its announcement regarding transgender golfers. The golfer also claimed to be second in the running for the Player of the Year.

“As we navigate through the evolving landscape of sports, it is crucial to uphold the competitive integrity that is the cornerstone of women’s sports. Our revised policy is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to celebrating and protecting the achievements and opportunities of female athletes,” NXXT Golf CEO Stuart McKinnon said in a statement. “Protected categories are a fundamental aspect of sports at all levels, and it is essential for our Tour to uphold these categories for biological females, ensuring a level playing field.”

Davidson was the single transgender golfer during the last tournament. The golfer took to Instagram on Friday to post a live reaction, claiming, “People think I win just by showing up.”

“This is such a slap in the face to ALL female athletes being told that any male can transition and beat them regardless of the life of hard work those women put in. You think you’re attacking me, but you’re actually attacking and putting down ALL other female athletes,” Davidson wrote. “You can scream at me, threaten me, throw insults at me, and even ban me BUT I will ALWAYS get back up and keep fighting to the very end. Hate and bigotry will never win.”

Davidson underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2021. The LPGA tour has accepted golfers who weren’t assigned female at birth since 2010 when it removed the requirement.
