Maureen Galindo, a Democratic candidate for Texas‘s 35th Congressional District, will not be welcomed to the House with open arms if she wins her election.

Reps. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), who are both Jewish, vowed to force a vote to expel the Democratic candidate “every single day” the House is in session if she wins the Texas seat.

Galindo, a sex therapist and housing advocate, has made a string of antisemitic comments in recent weeks, including threatening to turn ICE detention facilities into internment camps for “American Zionists and former ICE officers” in a recent Instagram post.

“Maureen’s insane, antisemitic views — including putting Americans in concentration camps — have no place in our Party or country,” Moskowitz and Gottheimer said in a joint statement.

Galindo is facing former Bexar County public information officer Johnny Garcia in the May 26 runoff election for the Democratic nomination.

House Democratic leadership has similarly condemned Galindo, with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairwoman Suzan DelBene (D-WA) saying her “vile language” is disqualifying and has no place in U.S. politics or the Democratic Party.

In their joint statement, Jeffries and DelBene referred to the Lead Left PAC, a dark money group that reportedly has GOP ties and has spent thousands of dollars to boost Galindo’s campaign.

“House Republican leadership must immediately cease propping up this antisemitic candidacy, pull spending in the race and forcefully condemn these comments,” Jeffries and DelBene wrote. “To embrace and uplift a fringe candidate with antisemitic — and extremely dangerous — rhetoric and views in order to win an election is beyond the pale.”

Not much is known about the dark money group, as it has not had to disclose its fundraising operations yet. But the organization has reportedly boosted Democratic primary candidates running against Democrats’ preferred candidates.
