Talk show and podcast host Conan O’Brien stopped by the White House Friday to snag a rare interview with President Joe Biden.
The former Conan star and comedy writer now hosts his own podcast, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, on which Biden will appear soon.

“They won’t let me take questions, but I have the answers to everything,” O’Brien told reporters while visiting the James S. Brady press briefing room.
The episode will be available Wednesday and includes what the show’s promoters describe as a long-form interview between Biden and O’Brien.
Reporters were gathering for an annual Christmas party when O’Brien appeared, and one even gave him an impromptu invitation, which he declined with a joke.
O’Brien shared some of his White House knowledge, such as the fact that a small pool could once be found where the briefing room now stands, and he told the story of how a Venetian mural was installed during the Kennedy administration.
Many of the journalists were likely jealous when the interview was announced later, as Biden rarely agrees to one-on-ones.

CBS correspondent Ed O’Keefe had asked just the day before if Biden would agree to a traditional end-of-the-year press conference with White House reporters.
“I don’t have anything else to add about an end-of-the-year press conference,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. “But the president is going to travel, as you know, on Wednesday. You’re going to hear from him today. And so, you’ll continue to hear from him before the end of the year, certainly.”
