Following President Joe Biden’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday in Los Angeles, California, people on social media slammed the interview, calling it “disgusting.”
The president spent much of the interview discussing gun control, abortion, and the economy while blasting former President Donald Trump and Republicans.
“I often get asked, ‘Look, the Republicans don’t play it square. Why do you play it square?’ Well, guess what. If we do the same thing they do, our democracy will literally be in jeopardy,” Biden said. “Not a joke.”
Kimmel equated Washington, D.C., politics and Republicans to that of playing the game Monopoly with people who do not follow the rules.
“How do you ever make any progress if they’re not following the rules?” Kimmel asked.
“Well, you have to send them to jail,” Biden joked, referencing the board game.

Shortly after the president’s interview finished airing, criticism poured in on social media over the comment.
“This POS and his son should be in jail,” one Twitter user wrote. “Seriously despise him.”

Comments also blasted Biden for being divisive.
“Segregationist Joe Biden goes on Blackface Jimmy Kimmel & still attacks Republicans,” a tweet read. “The guy is very desperate for Democrats to keep the House & Senate.”

Another Twitter user posed the question: “So is anyone going to fact-check Biden on all the stuff he’s making up? Because Jimmy Kimmel sure ain’t.”
Many reactions also included references to how “soft” Kimmel was on Biden, despite the talk show host admitting he needed to ask tough questions.

For those that commended the interview, Biden was noted for having good intentions.
