Durham College, a public college in Ontario, Canada, has disavowed the pro-Hamas comments of student Sahar Shehadeh. Her viral social media post shared how “very proud” of Hamas she was and “would love it” if they attacked Israel again.

“I support Hamas. History was made that day. Very proud of my people. Very, very proud. [I] would love it if they do it again,” Shehadeh said originally in an Instagram post on Saturday while wearing a white burqa.

Shehadeh went on to repeat the word “again” seven times to show her support for Hamas.

“I would love it if they would do it again and again and again and again and again,” in an apparent reference to the Oct. 7 massacre of over 1,200 Israelis, she continued.

The post later went viral when it was reposted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The college called her video “disturbing” and “unequivocally” condemned her comments on the violent attack on Israel.

“DC is aware of a disturbing video of an alleged student making anti-semitic comments in support of terrorism. Per our Student Conduct Policy, the Office of Campus Safety has contacted the individual and is taking all necessary actions, including working with the DPRS on this matter,” the college said on social media in a series of posts.

The college continued, “Durham College unequivocally condemns the inflammatory statements made in this video and does not tolerate antisemitism, Islamophobia, or any form of hate, discrimination or promotion of acts of violence. DC is a welcoming, inclusive and diverse community, and we remain committed to non-violence and the safety and well-being of the DC community.”

“DC is a welcoming, inclusive and diverse community, and we remain committed to non-violence and the safety and well-being of the DC community,” it added.

Shehadeh’s Facebook page reportedly shows a video of a protest she attended in 2021 with the soundtrack of the song “Edreb Edreb Tel Aviv,” which translates to “blow up Tel Aviv.”

Social media descended on her viral comments.

“This young woman is so full of hate, ignorance & hubris that she openly supports #Hamas a terrorist organization that beheads toddlers, rapes women, & desecrates corpses. Wonder if she realizes her Western birthright is what’s keeping her safe from those same terrorists,” conservative commentator Sarah Parshall Perry said on social media.

“Students pursuing Genocide should have their visas revoked,” one person said on social media.
